Ways to Give
Every gift to the Sumter United Ministries Legacy Foundation invests in the future of Sumter United Ministries. By building lasting financial resources today, the Foundation helps ensure that the ministry can continue responding to changing community needs while remaining faithful to its mission of sharing Christ's love through compassionate service.
Giving Options
Ongoing or One-Time Gifts
Support the Foundation through a one-time or recurring donation, helping meet current needs while strengthening future impact.
If you are age 70½ or older, you may be eligible to make a Qualified Charitable Distribution (QCD) directly from your traditional IRA to the Legacy Foundation.
A QCD is generally not included in your taxable income and does not generate a charitable deduction. If you are required to take a Required Minimum Distribution (RMD), a QCD may count toward that annual requirement.
To make a gift, contact your IRA administrator and request a direct distribution to the Sumter United Ministries Legacy Foundation. Please also notify the Foundation so we can properly record and acknowledge your contribution.
Give from Your IRA
A gift of long-term appreciated stock or other securities can be a tax-efficient way to support the Foundation. In many cases, donors may avoid capital gains tax on the appreciated value of the stock while receiving a charitable deduction based on its fair market value at the time of the gift.
